The Atelier is a progressive learning centre. We are committed to preserving childhood as a time of wonder, discovery, and becoming.
Over the different phases of childhood, children seek to understand themselves, others and the world through play, explorations, and relationships. At The Atelier we allow childhood to unfold with integrity.
Here children have the freedom to explore, the support to deepen their ideas, and the time to develop a meaningful relationship with learning. We honour who children are in the present that is curious, capable, and fully alive in their learning.

In our view, education is the process of growing outwards, moving towards a full expression of self.
The Whole Child

We nurture and attend to the child’s whole being which is their physical, emotional, social and cognitive self, and honour the interconnected nature of growth, development, and learning.
The Learning Approach ​

Children learn deeply when they are actively engaged in experiences that are meaningful to them. At the Atelier, learning emerges through meaningful experiences, play and exploration, inquiry and investigation, dialogue and collaboration.
Relationships​

Children learn within a network of relationships with mentors, peers, parents, materials, and the environment. Parents and mentors are partners in the children's learning. Through our partnerships, we create a community centred around mutual respect and shared responsibility.
